Learning Disability Week 2026
From June 15–21, 2026, we celebrate Learning Disability Week, an annual awareness week dedicated to recognizing, supporting and celebrating people with learning disabilities.
This year’s Learning Disability Week theme is “Do You See Me?”—a powerful reminder that people with learning disabilities deserve to be seen, heard and valued.
Every child’s path to literacy is unique. At Epic, we’re dedicated to creating accessible reading experiences that help children explore books, strengthen their skills and grow their confidence as readers.
Every Child Deserves Access
Epic Educator Ambassador Allison Graves shared how access to read-aloud support can make a meaningful difference:
“Prior to utilizing Epic, I know myself and other teachers challenged to provide high-quality text read aloud to students. It is vital that all students have access to hearing higher-level literature for vocabulary. Epic allows me to provide opportunities for students to listen to both informational and fiction texts to make sure regardless of reading level or disability students can access the content.”
When students can access content through tools that support their individual needs, they gain more opportunities to build knowledge and strengthen literacy skills.
How Epic Supports Accessible Reading
Accessible reading tools can help remove barriers and give more children opportunities to engage with books independently.
Epic offers features designed to support a variety of reading needs, including Read-To-Me books, which combine professional narration with highlighted text. We also have a huge library of audiobooks for listening on the go. Speech-to-text search on iOS makes it easier for children to find books using voice commands.

Speech-language pathologist and Epic Educator Ambassador Kate Ramacciotti has seen the impact of these tools firsthand in her work with students:
“I absolutely love the audiobook versions, particularly the engaging narration of The Magic School Bus series, which I often recommend to families as a wonderful way to build listening and language skills during car rides or as part of a bedtime routine. This platform blends literacy, learning and engagement beautifully, and it has been a powerful tool in helping my students make meaningful progress.”
Kate’s experience highlights how accessible reading tools can help children engage with stories, build literacy skills and grow in confidence. Supporting Confidence Through Choice
Every successful reading experience helps build confidence. By giving children different ways to access books, we can help them discover what works best for them and build lasting reading habits.
Epic also offers a collection of Dyslexia-Friendly books, including the popular Unicorn Island series. Designed with accessibility in mind, these books feature fonts and layouts that can help make reading more comfortable for children with dyslexia and other reading challenges. By providing engaging stories in formats that support diverse learning needs, Epic helps more children experience success with reading, build confidence and develop a lifelong love of books.

Every Reader Deserves to Feel Seen
Learning Disability Week is an opportunity to celebrate the unique strengths and learning journeys of all children. With accessible learning tools and engaging content, Epic helps more children build reading confidence, develop new skills and feel empowered as readers.
